A Successful Day at the Eiteljorg Indian Market

Thanks to the over 250 people who came to our booth at the Eiteljorg Indian Market!

Jim and Courtney with donor at Eiteljorg Indian Market 2016 copyOur booth featured our learning materials and information on the importance of preserving Native American languages. It was a great chance to share with the public information about our partner tribes and their language initiatives.  We also had children’s activities including a “word”scavenger hunt, coloring sheets with Lakota and Crow wordGirl with scavenger hunt card copys and pictures, and a Quiz about native languages. Kids received a “I’m a Language Warrior” sticker for participating and a “mood pencil” for completing the task.

Karmelita Plains Bull, a fluent Crow Speaker joined us in the booth and spoke to adults and children alike about why it is so necessary to save and restore languages.

It was a great day! We are thankful for the numerous donations as well as the opportunity to share our mission with hundreds of people in the Indianapolis area.
